Well, I went on to the Wikipedia page on Young Earth Creationist and you will be glad to know that Creation is a Myth. It also links to another page entitled Genesis Creation Myth. I wonder what would happen if you created a page called. Evolution Myth. Don’t people realize that both Creation and Evolution can’t be proven by Science and that both are models on how some people believe the Earth was created. I choose to believe the Bible and Creation not only because it is what is written in God’s word but because it makes the most sense.

Here is why:

All matter that exists had to either exist forever or have a beginning.

You either have to believe something that can create has existed forever or matter has existed forever.

I choose to believe in a Creator rather than random chance doing the impossible.

I think there are some who believe in Evolution because they are convinced that evidence proves it. There has never been any evidence to scientifically prove evolution. I would love to hear from you on any proof that evolution is truth. Anyone know of any?

Well, how many times have you been frustrated b/c you can’t find enough adults who are great communicators/teachers to lead your small groups. You always dred hearing from the kids that end up with that certain teacher that everyone thinks is boring. But you don’t want to ask them to not be a youth leader because you know they love God and they love kids. Here is what you do. Find a few really good communicators/teachers and let them lead a larger group of students. Then break them up in small groups to discuss questions that come off of that teaching. You can even do it all in the same room and have a facilitator ask the questions then give each group time to discuss. Doing it this way gives your students the same teaching as everyone else. It also gives you a better chance of finding adults who love students and can sit with them and discuss questions. You can always, close off the question with the truth or thought you want them to walk away with so you can be sure every group is discussing what you want them to know. What have you seen that works well with small groups and finding quality teachers?

Ultimate (Frisbee) Basketball

What you need: Basketball court with goal, 1 or 2 nerf balls or dogeball type balls.

How to Play: The rules are exactly like ultimate frisbee except instead of using a frisbee you use a nerf ball or something soft (ball shaped) you can throw to everyone. You score a point everytime you make a basket. The only difference is if you shoot toward the goal and it hits the backboard or rim and you miss, then the other team gets the ball.

You can play it with 2 balls at the same time and it make it crazy. We play it with 20 or so people on a team. If you have 5 or 10 on a team you may want to use 1 ball.

If you have only 1 basketball goal. You can make each team when they change posession have to take it behind the backline.

Have fun! Love to hear if you play it how it worked for you and any variations to this game.

What are you drawing students with? I know it is tempting in your ministry to do whatever it takes to get a kid to come to your event or program. Just be very careful you don’t always trick them into coming. Nothing puts a bad taste for Jesus in someone’s mouth than Pizza with a surprise attack of the Gospel. If you want students to return to your ministry and to want to know Jesus. Help them realize how much they need Him. If you draw people to church b/c of pizza, games, and fun then keep your event that way. Have your students build relationships with their friends and then invite them to Jesus. You don’t have to share the gospel every time you are with a kid. But you do have to love them and make them feel like they can belong! That leads them to wanting to know more about the God you serve! What are some ways that you tried drawing kids to church that didn’t work? What ways did work? What ways led to them wanting to know more about Jesus?

Personal, Family, Church, Ministry? Apathy is contagious and will affect every or your life and ministry. Fight apathy by seeking God’s Truth with Passion! Your teens are fighting it and if you are in a place in ministry where your are so burnt out that you stop caring about reaching the huritng, reaching students who don’t know God yet, reaching kids who are rebellious and who don’t seem to care, then your ministry will suffer. God has called us to love people. Loving others is the cure for Apathy. Pray everyday for God to help you realize how much you need Him. Also, pray for God to give you a passion to reach people, read His word, and Make Him known!

How is Apathy affecting your ministry? What are some things we can do as youth pastors and leaders to fight against apathy?

Investing in people that are investing in your ministry will reach more people with greater impact. I have been using interns in my youth ministry for years and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It is great to be able to pour into young men and women who are striving to make a difference and impact for God. Interns are a little different than volunteers since they usually have more time to put into ministry and they have more accountability because of the intern label.

There are several ways you can inhance your intern ministry with no or little budget.

1) Have them volunteer their time. No financial gain. Just experience and something good to put on their resume.

2) Have interns raise all their support

3) Have interns raise some support and supplement them with a little income.

4) Have your church pay them a fair value for their time.

Pray for God to bring people up in your ministry or to your ministry to help you develop interns.

How are you using interns in your ministry? How have you been able to grow, train and develop interns?
